COLUMBUS—The House Civil Justice Committee today passed House Bill 265, legislation to exempt certain sensitive information about first responders from disclosure under public records law, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.).

“This legislation will provide our first responders peace of mind that their families are safe at home while they are out ensuring the safety of their communities,” said Hall. “I look forward to seeing this bill cross the finish line in the Ohio House.”

The bill will also clarify additional information protected under the Ohio Revised Code.

House Bill 265 now heads to the House floor for a vote.
